Spinnakers Restaurant

Located in Columbiana mall this small restaraunt is absolutely remarkable. The decor and atmosphere is spot on, along with the service. Delicious grilled steaks, and a new treat to me "flower pot bread." A wonderful yeast rising bread, baked in a clay flower pot. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone in the area, take a break from shopping and enjoy a great lunch inside or out. I give Spinnakers a 8 on a 1-10 basis!

Colts Chocolates

This chocolate is absolutely the best I've had in a long time. Operating out of Nashville, this company is known for their "colts bolts" winch put them on the map with me. Biting into one of these massive bolts is wonderous, you are hit with a chocolate coating, then a smooth penut butter cream, and delicious whole roasted almonds, breathe taking. I would recommend any of their items for gifts, or just for youself, they're wonderful. You can find some of their products in "Crackle Barrell Restaurants" here in the South, or just visit their website at http://www.coltschocolates.com/ where you can choose from an assortment of gifts, shipped fresh to your door. I give this candy company a 10 out of a 1-10 basis, they are nothing to be played with.

"Village Place Restaurant" Orangeburg, SC

When I walked through the door at peak lunch time, the tables were empty, straight away I knew this place had a bad rep. I ordered lobster ravioli for around 12 dollars. The portion of this meal is extremly small, the dish was lacking in flavor and umph, served with breadsticks. The restaurant is owned and operated by an Idian owner and chef. The menu is shooting for Italia influence in my opnion, and it's not working. I wouldn't mind seeing them creating dishes they know and are familiar with, with Indian influence, it would thrive in this city. If the restaurant does not change within a few months, I don't see it lasting. I give them a 3 on a 1-10 basis.

"Chestnut Grill" Orangeburg,SC

The grill itself has a wonderful atmosphere, along with decor. I placed and order for fried oyster and shrimp, along with a calm chowder served in a sourdough bread bowl. Staring with the soup, overall very good, however the bread was bitter and very hard, I much more prefered the soup without it. Going on to the oysters, way to oily, and had a piece of shell in one. The shrimp were fried as well, cold, but had good flavor, nothing special. The dish was served with fried okra "better than the seafood" and fries "oily." Overall I would give the grill a 5 on a 1-10 basis.
